European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing (EJCN)
The Working Group on Cardiovascular Nursing recognises the need for evidenced-based practice. With the EJCN we believe that we make a major contribution to the mission of the ESC in improving quality of care and ultimately the quality of life of the European population by reducing the impact of cardiovascular disease. The Working Group on Cardiovascular Nursing launched the first issue of the European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing (EJCN) in 2002. The journal targets researchers, practitioners, educators and managers involved in cardiovascular nursing. Until July 2005, 14 issues of the journal have been produced.
The Journal publishes original articles, short report reviews and editorials on the broad field of cardiovascular nursing, including acute and chronic care, cardiac rehabilitation, and primary and secondary prevention, of adults and children as well as families. Contributions can be related to all aspects of care: education, research, practice or management.
The Editor in Chief is Dr Tiny Jaarsma from the Netherlands, supported by co-editors Prof David Thompson (previously UK, now Hong Kong), Prof Bengt Fridlund (Sweden) and Prof Simon Stewart (previously UK, now Australia). The editorial team are supported by an editorial board of recognised international experts in the field of cardiac care.
